About Nebulox

Nebulox, is an ultra-light foam alumina with very low thermal conductivity for high temperature (1700°C ) insulation. Nebulox range of products are available in pellets, bricks, plates and special shapes as per customer requirement. The standard supply are in the form bricks or plates up to a size of 450 x 250 mm or 400 x 300mm for thickness of 5.0 mm to 50 mm in density range of 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9 g/cc. Our facilities are also equipped to design and supply shapes as per customer design.

Application Details

As a thermal insulator, Nebulox can be used on hot phase insulation for continuous application upto 1700deg C. The thermal conductivity of Nebulox is as good as ceramic fibre and it does not have any vitrification properties. This will ensure longer service life compared to ceramic fibre based products. We observed energy savings to the tune of 30% for the batch type furnaces lined with Nebulox, compared to the conventional insulation linings. The raw material used for Nebulox boards are foamed alumina pellets through a patented chemical synthesis process and this ensure high purity and chemical stability. This will ensure possibility of insulation material getting radioactive after continuous exposure to the radiations, especially in the area of atomic energy segment. This is also very good choice for the furnace linings where colour sensitive materials are sintered. Severe operating atmospheres (hydrogen/reducing/special) can be well maintained owing to the contamination free insulation. Nebulox offers superior insulation at high temperatures, due to its unique micro structure. At very high temperatures most of the heat is radiated rather than transmitted. The intricate cellular micro structure is very effective in reflecting the heat. Combined low thermal conductivity with light weight, rigidity, mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance will give you an ultimate high-temperature insulation. Nebulox performs extremely well as insulation in fast heating and cooling processes, such as high temperature electric furnaces.

The raw material used for Nebulox boards are foamed alumina pellets through a chemical synthesis process and this ensure high purity and chemical stability. This is also very good choice for the setters as colour sensitive materials are sintered. Severe operating atmosphere (hydrogen/reducing/special) can be well maintained owing to the contamination free insulation. The porosity will also help in absorbing and releasing the volatile substances (like binding agents) there by giving uniform heat treatment / sintering / colour.

We have successfully proved this material as one of the best suited material for sintering trays in dental applications, where contamination free, rapid heating and cooling cycles are desired very critically. White zirconia sintering setters is another interesting application for this material. The grade AS 79 is specially designed for such applications.

Nebulox with higher density is a perfect selection for kiln furniture applications. The mechanical properties of Nebulox increase with density. Higher densities provide the mechanical strength and rigidity required for kiln furniture applications. Kiln cars are used in shuttle and tunnel kilns. A lot of energy is used to heat-up the kiln cars in addition to the energy spent to heat-up the products. The heavier the kiln car is, the more energy is wasted.

A great portion of this energy can be saved with the right kiln car design, especially in cases where the products are loaded on shelves that are placed on a supporting frame.

A super-structure of SiC beams carries the load of products and is supported in specific points, mainly the corners. The super-structure is supported underneath with high-temperature heavy refractory. The rest of the kiln car is built with Nebulox products

Nebulox boards and bricks - for the perimeter and for the top surface. Nebulox loose pellets - for the inner volume. This structure provides maximal energy savings with very easy & quick construction.

Nebulox pellets, an ultra-light alumina insulation aggregate with micro porous cellular structure, having low thermal conductivity and low thermal mass.
