Alumina Zirconia AZ25
Alumina Zirconia AZ25 is a high-performance fused alumina-zirconia material comprising approximately 25% zirconia uniformly distributed within an alumina matrix. Produced through eutectic fusion at high temperatures, it forms a dense, interlocked crystalline structure that offers excellent mechanical strength, toughness, and thermal shock resistance.
AZ25 is well-suited for high-pressure abrasive applications where durability and cutting efficiency are essential. In refractory applications, it delivers enhanced thermal stability and structural integrity, making it ideal for steel processing components such as ladles, nozzles, and slide gates exposed to cyclical thermal loads and moderate corrosion.
- AZ25 Sharp is engineered with a highly angular and pointed grain morphology, designed for aggressive material removal in high-pressure grinding operations. Its sharp edges enable a strong cutting action, making it ideal for resin-bonded wheels, and rough grinding of tough materials like stainless steel, carbon steel, and high-alloy metals.
- AZ25 Blocky features a rounded, dense grain structure, offering superior mechanical strength and particle integrity under extreme grinding conditions. This morphology supports better particle packing and grit retention, making it ideal for use in snagging wheels and rough grinding applications on castings and forgings.
