Calcia Stabilized Zirconia

Calcia Stabilized Zirconia

Calcia Stabilized Zirconia is a high-purity, electrofused material composed of zirconium dioxide (ZrO₂) stabilized with calcium oxide (CaO). During production, the material is melted at high temperatures in an electric arc furnace and then cooled under controlled conditions, resulting in a dense crystalline structure—either monoclinic or partially stabilized, depending on the calcium content.

The addition of calcia improves the thermal and phase stability of zirconia, helping the material maintain its strength and shape under extreme temperatures. As a result, it offers excellent thermal shock resistance, good corrosion resistance, and mechanical stability in demanding high-temperature environments such as steelmaking, glass furnaces, and foundries.
