Fused Mullite

Fused Mullite is manufactured by fusing a mixture of high purity calcined alumina and quartz in an electric arc furnace. Controlled fusion and slow solidification ensure the mullite phase, desired crystal structure and larger crystal size. Fused mullite grains have excellent thermal stability and low reversible thermal expansion. It is having high resistance to corrosion even at high temperature. Fused mullite is used in refractories application such as iron, steel , glass industries etc.
